Rain and Shine,
We Had a Great Time!
The 31st Irish
Setter Club of Seattle specialty and obedience trial was a great success
on Saturday, August 21st.
That the show came off so
well testifies to the dedicated efforts of ISCS member volunteers.
Led by show chair Bev Wallace, members set up the rings and judges
tables, others coordinated the donation and acquisition of trophies and
ribbons, some supplied welcoming hospitality of coffee and pastries
early in the morning, and there were those who set up a large area of
tenting that was especially needed by the end of breed judging when the
skies opened and dogs, exhibitors, and spectators all got soaked.
Members, exhibitors, judges, and guests all gave each other a “thank you
and congratulations” during a catered BBQ dinner at the show site, which
was enjoyed by all even though we had to crowd under canopies to stay
out of the continuing rain.
Many thanks to our judges,
Marian Mason Hodesson (classes and junior showmanship), Debbie Contardi
(sweepstakes), and Chris Cornell (obedience), ring stewards, show
superintendent, and to all the exhibitors who traveled from far and near
to show their Irish so expertly.
This year the rings were set
up on the groomed soccer fields of Marymoor Park. In spite of the
rain, these near ideal conditions gave all a good opportunity to present
their Irish to the best of their abilities.
